14 May 2008, Tonbridge and Malling Borough Councillors elected Vice Chairman of Borough Green Parish Council and Borough Councillor for Borough Green and Longmill, Sue Murray as the new Deputy Mayor.

Sue has spent the past five years as T&MBC Cabinet Member for Leisure, Youth and Arts, but is now stepping down from this post, She now takes on the role of the Chair of The Leisure and Arts Advisory Board, as well as retaining a number of positions on various Youth committees.
