TMBC LOCAL PLAN
TMBC are ignoring the wishes of the Parish Alliance meeting on 3rd July, where this submission was drawn up and formally lodged with TMBC. It is accompanied by this map which shows all the local sites. The Submission has been formally adopted by all 6 local Parishes, Platt, Wrotham , Ightham, Borough Green, Plaxtol and Shipbourne.
TMBC are trying to insist on the whole BG Landfill Site being allocated for housing, some 1200 homes, on the very thin excuse that it will "give us a Bypass". This will not be a Bypass, it will be a development Spine Rd, quickly clogged with traffic from all those new homes. Even the developers admit it will only take 900 vehicles per day out of the village, hardly a dent in the 18,000 per day we already suffer.
Ightham want Gracelands developed, Platt are expecting housing next to the New Memorial Hall, and we want a new entrance at Platt Industrial Estate, to give local residents better Highway and Pedestrian safety, less noise and pollution. "Not interested" say TMBC - read this extract from their "Way Forward" document
We were badly served by TMBC in the past with Isles Quarry, A-Z, Sainsbury, and many other smaller sites that are slowly destroying us as rural villages, and all without any improvements in infrastructure and services. We must use this consultation to state in a firm and united voice that enough is enough, this is supposed to be a democracy - listen to the Voters. The consultation runs from 30th Sept to 25th November, plenty of time even for the slowest writers.
You don't need to know about planning, just speak from your heart, and either email TMBC , or write to Local Plan, TMBC, Kingshill, ME19 4LZ.
Just one word of warning, TMBC's own consultation is umpteen pages of gobbledegook, it baffled me.
